The scent of shell ginger is extracted using a unique method and made into candles. Since the extraction is done by hand, these artisan candles cannot be mass-produced. They are made to order. （Please allow two weeks for production.)
Since no essential oils or other fragrances are used (natural plant ingredients are extracted and used as they are), the candles have a subtle aroma. The color of the candles is natural and gentle, suitable for those who do not like harsh scents of candles. STORY
Making aroma candles normally requires a surprisingly large amount of essential oils and fragrances. Since it takes a huge amount of raw materials to make just one drop of essential oil, it is inefficient for candles, and for this reason, candles using natural fragrances are rarely found in the market.
Against this backdrop, we wondered what we could do to make candles that would not burden the natural environment of Ishigaki Island, and we came up with Shell Ginger. Here, Shell Ginger is like a “weed” that grows whether it is cut or not. It also plays a role in preventing red soil runoff, so it is also planted. After much research and experimentation, they have developed an efficient way to make one candle from about 5-10 leaves.
The Shell Ginger candle was born out of a search for an SDG’s type of aromatic candle that is particularly environmentally conscious.
Shell Ginger is also considered to have a disinfectant scent. We hope that the cool scent of the forest and the relaxing atmosphere of the candles will make your home time a luxurious experience.
